The founders

Jalil Benabdillah
CEO

An engineer from the École des Mines d’Alès and a PhD from the University of Montpellier, he founded SDTech. His journey as a business creator and entrepreneur has been marked by genuine involvement and civic commitment in the economic life of the region.

Aziz Aït Amer
Managing Director

Aziz Ait Amer earned his engineering degree from the École des Mines d’Alès. He then moved to Montpellier to complete a PhD in Process and Particulate Engineering, with a focus on the physico-chemistry of materials, before returning to Alès to establish SDTech with his lifelong friend.

Since 1999, SDTech Groupe has distinguished itself both as a driver of innovation and as an industry partner.

1999

The story of two powders

Jalil Benabdillah and Aziz Aït Amer have known each other for over 40 years. Their friendship dates back to secondary school in Casablanca. Once qualified as engineers from the École des Mines d'Alès and holding doctorates from the University of Sciences of Montpellier, they founded SDTech together within the Technology Incubator of the École des Mines d'Alès.

2000

Promising beginnings

SDTech set up in Saint-Hilaire de Brethmas, in a rented warehouse, and launched its first micronisation line. A small but motivated team, the first clients were soon on board.

2006

Towards a new SDTech

To multiply its production and hosting capacities, SDTech joined the innovative companies at the Alès Scientific and Technological Industrial Park and moved into its new premises.

2011

A surge of growth

To support its development, SDTech completed a 1,800 m² extension of its premises. 14 new cleanrooms, a highly equipped laboratory and a training room could now welcome new team members.

2015

A new organisational structure

SDTech restructured to move forward more effectively: one group and two subsidiaries. SDTech Micro is the subsidiary dedicated to custom processing and microparticle analysis. SDTech Equipements is the subsidiary dedicated to the sale of industrial equipment and laboratory instruments.

2016

Towards the infinitely small

SDTech Nano was established. New ambitions, new buildings, new investments, new researchers, new engineers – it places its expertise in nanoparticle analysis and safety at the disposal of laboratories and industries.

New ambitions

SDTech has earned its credibility as a fine powder expert and has successfully built loyalty among prestigious clients. The group continues its recruitment programme and keeps investing to innovate and strengthen its production capabilities.
